DIY Nails

Every woman, even if they don't know it, loves a professional manicure.
But for some, they don't have the time or the money or the conveniences to have a professional manicure. To those whom that applies to, I will tell you how to properly look after your nails.

1. Make all your nails the same shape.
Some women prefer square nails, but I prefer the classic oval.

2. File them!
This is how you achieve step 1. Remember to always file from outwards in towards the centre. Never file from side to side like they do in the movies-this encourages the nail to split and peel. For the same reason, never use a metal file. Since I file my nails often, I use a glass file which I wholly recommend to any person. It never wears down and is good for the nail.

3. Such cute cuticles!
Push back your cuticles regularly, either using a cuticle stick or simply your other nails. But for some people, their cuticles are solid and impossible to push back. For you, I recommend buying a cuticle remover, there's one called striptease at nails inc for £8.00 which works very well.
Then apply cuticle oil to them. Many use cotton buds but I find that the oil is too absorbed by them and that you waste a lot using them, so use your little finger for this job.

4.Apply the base coat.
This prevents the coloured polish taking away your nails natural colour, which is why on toe nails people tend to have a yellow colour. It also nourished the nail.

5. Apply the polish.
Many have their own adapted technique for applying nail polish. Officially, you should use three strokes-one down the middle and the other two down the sides, but you may find that you have excess polish and that it may look tacky on occasion. Also, always do your fingers in order from the outside in, to avoid a mess if anything goes wrong.

6. Apply the top-coat.
This makes the polish last longer, and thankfully means we don't need to redo our nails as often.

Hopefully, all goes to plan.

Remember that if you accidentally get polish on your skin, press on and forget about it. Later you can use a cotton bud (don't use your little finger for this), dip it in nail remover, and carefully remove it.

Audrey Hepburn

If there is one woman who could capture people with her smile, it's darling Audrey Hepburn. If anyone has seen one of her movies, Breakfast at Tiffany's being the most prestigious (and one of my favourites), they will unserstand that she was an iconic gem not just because the Givenchy dresses looked so good on her, but because she was genuine.
Big fan of hers. Big big big fan.

Tell me what you think of her please.
